Welcome to the TUM SEED Center

Center for Sustainable Energies, Entrepreneurship, and Development in the Global South

The TUM SEED Center conducts research and offers higher education at the intersection of sustainable energies, entrepreneurship, and development (SEED) in the Global South. In the face of global sustainability challenges, TUM SEED is a melting pot for students, scholars and researchers to share inventive concepts and engage in solution-driven studies. We aim to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 7 and SDG 13, through research with impact at our living labs, but our work goes beyond academic excellence; it is also about bringing people from different cultures and backgrounds together.

To achieve this, we offer a variety of programs:

  • a Ph.D. program for doctoral candidates at TUM or at one of our partner universities in the Global South,
  • diverse possibilities for students to write their thesis, or conduct a semester abroad, or a project study together with us,
  • and many more activities.

TUM SEED Center is funded by the German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD) Excellence Centres for Exchange and Development (Exceed). Learn more about DAAD Exceed Program here.
